He graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in 1990. He received his specialty training in Department of Chest Diseases and Tuberculosis in Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine in 1992-1996. Between 1996-2004 he worked in Department of Chest Diseases, Yüzüncü Yıl University. Since 2004, he has been working at Selcuk University Meram Faculty of Medicine Department of Chest Diseases. On July 27, 2007, he received the title of Professor in Department of Chest Diseases.
