Rehabilitation of the Paralyzed Patient

Stroke is a disease usually seen in advanced and middle ages. People with diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, impaired cardiac rhythm, problems with heart valves, people consuming cigarettes and / or coffee, overweight people and people who move very little in their daily lives are at risk of getting stroke.

Stroke treatment must be treated under the physician’s control. Particularly those living in rural areas are trying to apply treatment to paralyzed patients using non-medical ways. Those types of treatments are extremely erroneous and wrong. This method can cause the disease to progress more. The aim of stroke treatment is to remove the shortcomings that affect the daily life of the patient.

It is very important for the social and spiritual life of the patient that daily necessities can be done without depending on anyone (go to the toilet, drink water, eat food).

Special programs are applied in paralyzed patients’ treatment. From patient’s bed to what he/she eats, all details should be taken care of during the treatments. The patient needs to be treated like a new-born baby.
The aim of stroke rehabilitation is to help the patient to walk again, to meet his/her daily needs, and to eliminate the paralyzed condition originating from hand or foot.

Special rehabilitation procedures are performed in our nursing home clinic for elderly people in Istanbul. The aim is to het the daily exercises done by the patient that will result in being healthier.

In today’s medical sense, treatment programs have been developed by which a patient with spinal cord trauma can partially meet his/her daily needs, like as a healthy individual. In our elderly nursing home clinic located in the Anatolian side of Istanbul, stroke treatments and paralytic patient rehabilitation programs are applied.
